How royaly exciting!

Did anyone else hear the big news?

The royal wedding of Prince William and Catherine had an ENTIRELY VEGAN menu for their wedding. How awesome is that? The Queen has decided that because there are so many guests from different cultures with different religious and ethical dietary requirements that the most practical solution is to go totally plant-based.

It has been decided that due to a combination of environmental, health, cultural and diplomatic concerns that a vegan menu is the most logical option. Meat and dairy have been shown to not only play a major part in the planets environmental woes but also heavily implicated in the rise in preventable chronic disease such as Heart disease, arthritis, diabetes, osteoporosis and cancer. When you add to that the different dietary requirements of the different faiths attending and celebrity guests such as Victoria Beckham and Joanna Lumley and their food foibles,’ vegan seemed the only logical solution.
You can read the full article here. So what do you guys think about this? I totally LOVE how main stream that veganism is becoming, and can’t wait to see what kind of tasty dishes that they ended up serving on the big day.

It got me thinking about my wedding someday, and what it would be like. Of course I would have a full vegan menu, and of course a really fun cake! Whats your dream wedding cake like? My dream wedding cake looks something like these two cakes combined together…

I love polka dots! But instead of the large weird ribbon thing on top, I would have daisies make out of edible fondant (since daisies are my favorite flower!), and then have them going down the sides. And my dream wedding gown looks something like this…

I love the elegance of the one shoulder, and how it’s fitted at the waist and then tiers at the bottom. So gorgeous! (Cant you tell I’ve thought a little bit about my one day wedding? ;))

Other breaking news…

I finally got business cards – I designed them myself!

Earth Mama ordered these as a surprise for me, and I am so please with how they turned out. It is so neat to finally be able to hand out my business cards, it feels so professional! I was grinning ear to ear when I was handing them out for the first time… gosh I am an easy girl to please!

Finals week is almost over! I just have one more exam and one more paper to write before I can officially go home for the summer. I cant help but be excited! 🙂

Happy friday!

  1. I completely didn’t know the royal wedding was vegan – how exciting! I watched it yesterday in my PJs becuase I got up late then couldn’t leave the TV incase I missed something! If I ever get married I want to have an outside wedding and wear fairy wings, then have a vegan picnic and campfire party, with lots of guitar playing and dancing 🙂

  2. I had no idea the royal wedding was vegan! That’s awesome! Hopefully that will make more people open to veganism.

I wouldn’t mind an outdoor wedding, but then again it always rains, right? 😉 Those cakes are gorgeous! I can’t decide which one I like better.

that post was an april fool’s joke. the wedding wasn’t vegan, and the bride was wearing fur at the reception.

  4. I didn’t follow the royal wedding at ALL. I know, I feel like I live under a rock.
I had my dream wedding, just small and inexpensive with all my friends and family on a perfect spring day. (My 3 year anniversary is next week!) And I’ll tell you a secret: I ordered the cake to have messy, textured frosting A) because I thought it was pretty and B) so I could stick my finger in for a taste and know one would notice, mostly because I thought it was funny. And I did. And it was delicious! Black forest cake with Bavarian cream filling and white buttercream. Yum!

  5. It says that article is an April Fool’s Joke. I watched the Dateline special (haha, I know, I’m pathetic, but it looked so romantic), and it definitely wasn’t vegan. They showed some of the food prep. It would have been cool, though!

  6. I was so excited when I got my first business cards 🙂 Did you make them on Vista Print? If not, check them out! They’re so cheap and have so many great patterns and layouts to choose from.

I hadn’t heard the Royal Wedding served a vegan menu! Learn something new every day 🙂 I did watch a lot of the coverage, but still haven’t made it through the entire ceremony. It takes me awhile to catch up with my DVR. 🙂

This is a totally random question about Zumba that I hope that you can answer! I am going to try Zumba for the first time this week at my gym, and I was just wondering if it is going to be awkward if I don’t know all the dances? How does one learn the dances, just by showing up or what? I’m just afraid I’m going to look silly in front the other Zumba-ers who already know all the moves! Sorry if this is a ridiculous question!

  8. Love ur cards! Can you tell me how you did the logo? Thanks!

    1. Hi Kate! Which logo are you talking about? The teeny zumba logo in the right corner?
